Mike Sanders, President & CEO Interactive Government

While in the U.S. Marine Corps, Michael consistently witnessed mentors, friends and peers experience disappointment and lack of support when trying to transition into a civilian career. After his enlistment, Michael identified the issues contributing to veteran unemployment and made a commitment to continue serving his country and its veterans by finding a solution to help facilitate the transition from active duty service to successful civilian careers.

In 2006, Michael accomplished the commitment he made to veterans and founded Interactive Government Holdings (IGH).

“When we initially began IGH, we won most of our work as a subcontractor. As we gained a reputation for doing excellent work at a lower cost point than our competitors we started winning projects as a prime contractor,” said Michael.

In 2015, Michael's vision became reality when IGH was awarded the Department of Defense (DoD) Family Employer Programs and Policies (FEPP) contract. FEPP is a combination of government programs geared towards Veteran Employment, Reintegration and Family Readiness. The FEPP award sparked a new era for IGH; the company experienced a 1,700% growth in revenue and expanded its office locations to all 50 States, three US Territories and the District of Columbia.“

The most exciting and rewarding part about what we do is our ability to help veterans find meaning outside of theirmilitary careers by finding lucrative employment,” said Michael.

Michael’s passion for serving those who serve continues to lead IGH. In 2016, IGH has continued its astronomical growth by adding additional sub and prime contracts across both the military and civilian marketplace.

Michael, his wife Sarah, and his three children live in Alexandria, Virginia. Michael and Sarah are members of Blessed Sacrement Catholic Church, the Army Navy Country Club, and are active donors and participants of their local Red Cross Chapter. Michael has also recently become a member of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) board.
