Halloween-heads all seem to be asking the same question. When is Summerween? And what is it? Superfans of the holiday aren't holding out for October 31st to arrive this year. They've started a new party craze that's taking over TikTok's #foryoupage and Pinterest's DIY idea boards.
One of the first Summerween videos to go viral was posted by creator Bonnie Barton, who shared a 14-second clip of her Halloween party in early July.
Let me set the scene for you.
It was a warm summer night. Bonnie threw on a witch hat and long black dress, strung up a Jack-o-lantern piñata, tossed a skeleton into her kiddie pool, grilled up some pumpkin-shaped cheeseburgers, and poured herself a glass of fizzing orange Fanta. Similar to numerous other posts during the summer, Barton's brief video garnered millions of views and thousands of comments right away. But there was something strange about it.
People began bringing up the fact that commemorating Halloween in the summer isn't particularly a novel idea. A 2012 Disney Channel episode called Gravity Falls Summerween was mentioned by a few.
So what do you say? would you bring out the spooky season to your front lawn this summer, or are you going to patiently wait it out?
