Arguing On A Flight Is The New Way To Get Open Middle Seats!

Whether you should try it is a matter for debate.

Travelers on Southwest Airlines have grown used to taking their time walking down the aisle, examining available seats and deciding whether or not to take a seat. Some travelers have recently been more inventive in their attempts to dissuade others from sitting there and you'll be shocked when you hear what the hack is.

In order to discourage others from joining them in their argument, Instagram creators Kalah and David Allen, who also happen to be travel buddies, released an instagram reel. The social media users have shared the video widely, sparking an online debate on proper seat-saving behavior.

It was obvious throughout the video that any prospective seat chooser would be caught in the crossfire of the fictitious confrontation as Kalah and David occupied the window and aisle seats, leaving the middle seat unoccupied.

In the video the couple breaks character several times, laughing at the absurdity of the situation. Fortunately for them, the middle seat stayed open on the flight, as passengers seemed to quickly walk past the argument in order to find a different seat. On Instagram, hundreds of people shared their take on the seat-saving strategy, with some calling it a "great idea," however some travelers say they would have picked the seat for some additional in-flight entertainment.

Would the in flight entertainment be worth the lack of quiet for countless hours? let us know by DM'ing us @YMSradio on socials!
