Maggie and Kyle have been dating for a little over two years and are both teachers. They both teach at different schools, but Kyle’s school is on the way to Maggie’s so she usually drops him off when she goes to work. Kyle teaches at an elementary school and Maggie teaches science at a middle school, but for the past few weeks Maggie hasn’t been picking up Kyle because Kyle has said he’s had department meetings every day and she’s confused as to why because it’s the end of the year. At the same time, Maggie has noticed that when she drops Kyle off that he’s pretty quiet and has told Maggie he’s on his phone to prepare notes for a sub. Maggie got suspicious so she asked her friend who teaches at the same school as Kyle and her friend told her Kyle hasn’t been at any of their meetings for the past few months.
We call Kyle pretending to offer him an award for teaching that includes a dinner for two and a bouquet of flowers and when we ask him who he wants to bring and send the flowers to, Kyle asks if we can send them to someone named Rachel who is a mother of one of his students.
