Have you ever caught yourself looking up a new dating term just to prepare yourself in case it happens to you? You're not alone and Tinder is here to help you out with their own "dating dictionary!"

The dating app created a guide older singles can use when on a dating app so that they know just exactly what is going on if they are dating someone younger. Essentially the "dating dictionary" was made so that older millennials can understand what Gen Z is talking about.

Here are some of the "dating dictionary" terms listed in Tinder's guide so study up:

  • Cushioning” - Keeping several backup relationships on standby to fall back on if your main one doesn’t work out.
  • Daterview” - A date that feels more like a job interview.
  • Hard launch” - It’s the first official “couple photo” shared online.
  • Ick” - A turn-off, including more than just sexual turn-offs.
  • Kittenfishing” - Tweaking or embellishing parts of your life or appearance to make yourself more appealing on dating apps. This isn’t pretending to be someone else entirely, just falsely presenting yourself.
  • Rizz” - Short for charisma, it’s when someone can easily charm others, also known as having “game.”
  • Situationship” - The in-between, undefined relationship status when someone is more than a hook-up, but not really a couple.
