According to a study published in The Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy, office crushes may benefit your already existing romantic relationship. The research found that 70% of participants (all women) in the study had a crush on someone that wasn't their partner and a majority of those crushes were on people they worked with and the participants reported that their crush improved their relationship with their partner.
Ok so how does this help an already established relationship? It's something called "emotional transference." Basically, the women in the study would place that desire they had for the work crush on to their partner instead. This seems a bit dangerous, don't you think?
You obviously have to be REALLY careful with this: (1) so you don't act on those feelings, but also (2) so you don't form an emotional relationship with your crush. Emotional cheating is considered cheating too.
