A Japanese couple who can’t agree on their last name has agreed to divorce and remarry every three years so they can take turns using their respective last names.
Japanese law states that couples must agree on a single last name to use after they get married.
This couple, however, couldn't decided which name to use.Luckily for them, they heard about another couple with the same problem who found a solution: divorce & remarry under the other's last name periodically. The decided they would do the same and got married in 2016. They divorced and remarried to change names in 2019 and plan to divorce to remarry again in July of 2022.
That just seems like a lot of unnecessary paperwork.
