According to a report in the “Wall Street Journal,” more and more gyms are embracing gentler, “recovery”-type classes, like yoga and meditation.
The reason is because Americans are focusing more on improving how they feel rather than how they look. Some gyms are even adding rooms with massage lounge chairs and self-massage offerings.
Let's be honest though-- Yoga, meditation and pilate-type classes are not really an easy out. Yoga poses can be incredibly challenging and you have to make sure you're holding the pose correctly to get the full benefit of it. Meditation takes practice to quiet your mind and fully feel the benefits from doing it.
