This is Why Dogs Tilt Their Heads When You Talk to Them

A new study has revealed why dogs tilt their heads when you talk to them. Not only is it adorable, but according to the new study published in the journal Animal Cognition, the head tilt is a signal that the dog is intently listening and processing what you're saying.

The study states:

“We observed 40 dogs during object-label knowledge tests and analyzed head-tilts occurring while listening to humans requesting verbally to fetch a familiar toy. Our results indicate that only dogs that had learned the name of the objects tilted their heads frequently.”
