Well this is new. A bride and groom charged guests $5 for the cake and didn't let them know about the fee until they were at the wedding.
A guest posted on reddit that he got a text from a bride the day after she got married telling him he needed to pay for his second slice of cake. She apparently had CCTV footage of him going for a second and not paying for the second slice.
The man posted the text he got to Reddit saying quote, "I paid for the first slice after it was announced on the day that we’d be helping pay for their cake. Apparently it didn't count for a second.”
The guest says both the groom and best man mentioned the cake fee in their speeches, but he thought it was a joke until people in the cake line came back to their table to grab cash!
There was even a credit card reader there for guests to pay and they were taking names for tabs, too.
