Why You Shouldn't Pee In the Shower, According To A Doctor

Raise your hand if you've peed in the shower.

... Don't lie.

We've all done it, but it might not be a good idea. A doctor on Tiktok revealed why you SHOULDN'T pee in the shower.

Dr. Alicia Jeffrey-Thomas, a doctor of physical therapy, explained on Tiktok (video below) that peeing in the shower can create "an association in the brain between the sound of running water and having to pee,” like Pavlov's Theory, which could potentially cause “leak issues.” Yikes.

This is especially bad for those “assigned female at birth” who aren’t “designed to pee standing up.”

Dr. Jeffery-Thomas goes on to say that, quote, “Your pelvic floor isn’t going to relax appropriately, which means that you aren’t really going to be emptying your bladder super well."
