The World's Most Expensive Sheep Sold At Auction For $460,000

If you have ever wondered how much a sheep costs then get ready for your question to be answered because a sheep just sold at auction for $467,000!

A lamb called Double Diamond was sold to farmers at the Scottish National Texel sale in Lanar this past weekend and set a new record for the most amount of money paid for a sheep with the previous amount being $307,000 in 2009.

The average cost of a lamb in the UK is around $135, but top quality sheep often have a larger price tag because they are good for breeding and have a lot of meat. A furious bidding war ensued during the auction, but the sheep was bought in a three-way partnership between three farms.
