Running any race, from a 5K to a marathon, is impressive, but doing it while pushing a stroller? That can be downright grueling. But a mom in Montana is making it look easy because she just crushed a marathon record while pushing her three kiddos in a stroller.
As Cynthia Arnold ran the Missoula Marathon, she had her children, six-year-old daughter, Marguerite, three-year-old son, Simon, and 21-month-old daughter, Asha, in the stroller. So for all 26.2 miles, she was pushing an extra 185-pounds between the kids and the stroller itself. But the extra weight didn’t slow this mama down, in fact, she finished the marathon in three hours, 11 minutes. That beats the previous record by over an hour and unofficially breaks the Guinness World Record for fastest marathon run while pushing a triple stroller.
Arnold’s time beats the previous record of four hours, six minutes and if that’s not impressive enough, this mom even stopped for a popsicle break for her kids at mile 14! Last year she broke the half-marathon, triple stroller record, so she’s not slowing down.
“Running with the stroller has so many benefits for running parents,” Arnold explains. “The stroller gives one the freedom to carry on a lifestyle with new ones in tow.”
