Demi Lovato is "awake and with her family' according to a statement issued by her rep. News broke earlier today that she was rushed to the hospital due to an alleged drug overdose.

I had the pleasure of chatting with Demi Lovato a few months ago. She was kind, sweet, genuine, humble and appeared to be in a really great place. I thanked her endlessly for telling her story and helping so many people who are fighting the same demons. She was making it ok to talk about it. She had to know how much that meant to me. I told her so many times. Too many times LOL
