Virginia's Sales Tax Holiday Weekend Is Back!

This weekend, Virginia is bringing back its sales tax holiday weekend. It starts at 12:01 a.m. on Oct. 20 and ends Oct. 22 at 11:59 p.m.

The reason there wasn’t one in August for back to school is because lawmakers forgot to renew the sales tax holiday during budget negotiations back in March and the legislation expired so it couldn't be offered in August.
