Some local breweries won prestigious awards at the Great American Beer Festival. There were a total of 9,400 entries from all 50 states, D.C. & Puerto Rico.

- Oktoberfest from Port City Brewing Co. (Alexandria, Virginia)
- Rye Whiskey Barrel-Aged Atom Smasher from Rock Bottom Brewery (Bethesda, Maryland)
Silver
- Passionfruit on Acid from Blue Mountain Barrel House (Arrington, Virginia)
- Milk Stout from Waredaca Brewing Co. (Gaithersburg, Maryland)
- Oktoberfest from Silver Branch Brewing Co (Silver Spring, Maryland)
Bronze
- Buttons the Bear from Bear Chase Brewing Co. (Bluemont, Virginia)
- Silent Neighbor from Atlas Brew Works (D.C.)
- Midnight Rider Imperial Porter from Great American Restaurants — Sweetwater Tavern Merrified (Falls Church, Virginia)
