The statement made by The Academy saying they asked Will Smith to leave and him refusing after he smacked Chris Rock at the Oscars IS APPARENTLY NOT TRUE.
WHAT?!?
The Academy put out this narrative in their statement, but now sources are saying he was never asked to leave. Apparently, the officials were split on what to do about the situation and a consensus was never reached.
Oh and to make things more confusing, Will was apparently asked to STAY by producer Will Packer who reportedly made the final call.
