North Carolina Gov: The Danger Isn’t Over

"Sunshine doesn't necessarily mean safety." That's the warning from North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper who notes that 16 rivers statewide are at major flood stage due to Florence, and three more will reach that stage on today or tomorrow.

Cooper adds more than 11-hundred roadways are closed due to severe floodwater and some are still at risk of closing. Emergency management officials warn evacuees from the coast to stay away as cresting rivers will impact the state over the next few days.

Facebook Faces Accusations Of Job Discrimination

Facebook is being accused of allowing advertisers to discriminate against women. The ACLU filed a lawsuit with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission claiming job ads targeting men on Facebook denied women equal opportunities for employment. The ACLU says this violates federal civil rights law.

Basically, the ACLU is charging that if you're a man, you saw certain job ads...and that if you're a woman, you wouldn't have seen those same ads.

Lyft Reaches One-Billion Ride Milestone

Lyft has reached a major milestone. The ride-hailing company announced today they've surpassed one billion rides. That comes six years after first launching in 2012.

In the last eleven months, Lyft has doubled the number of rides from 500-million to the one-billion mark. Lyft says 233-million of those last one-billion rides were shared rides.
