Hurricane Florence could become a Category 5 before she makes landfal


Hurricane Florence is currently a powerful Category 4 storm that could stall upon reaching the Carolina coast and make a slight shift south toward South Carolina. Once it makes landfall, becoming "a major flooding event. It will effect millions this week in the southeastern U.S., is "expected to bring life-threatening storm surge and rainfall" to North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, and parts of the Mid-Atlantic states.

This NYFW show only cast transgender models, and this is what progress looks like

On  September 8th, one show made history by featuring exclusively transgender models. All 34 models highlighted in underwear brand Marco Marco’s Collection Seven show were transgender. 

""Although I have always had trans and non binary people in my shows, it became apparent to me that their presence was often overshadowed by cis gay men or cis gay men in drag," designer Marco Morante told Mic.com. "I wanted to create a space to celebrate trans bodies. This was an opportunity for their presence to be undeniable and reinforce that trans is beautiful."

Amazon Selling Seven-Foot Live Christmas Trees This Year

Starting sometime in November, customers will be able to pick between various types of live trees – including Douglas firs, Norfolk Island pines, and Fraser firs. 

The company has sold smaller live Christmas trees last year, but this time around the trees are a whopping seven-feet tall. The price to pay for getting your favorite tree delivered to your doorstep is a little steeper than your average street vendor, a seven-foot Fraser fir going for $115.

Facebook launching 'Community Help'

Just in time for hurricane season.....

Facebook announced that it was expanding its Community Help features to Facebook Lite, the company's data-conserving android app initially created for use on older phones and in developing countries. 

 It allows people to mark themselves "safe" in the wake of disasters, and becomes a hub where people can ask for, receive, and give help.
