Fans Pay Their Respects To Aretha Franklin, Funeral Will Now Be Televised


The  goodbye has begun for those who adore Aretha Franklin. Her viewing, which is taking place at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit continues today. 

The public will once again be able to pay their respects to Aretha at the museum today, with her funeral set to take place Friday at Greater Grace Temple in Detroit. The funeral, which will feature performances by Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Ronald Isley, Jennifer Hudson, Faith Hill, Fantasia and Yolanda Adams, will be broadcast live on several Detroit TV stations, with CNN and Fox News also airing portions of the service.

Puerto Rico Ups Hurricane Maria Death Toll To Nearly 3,000


Puerto Rico is revising the official death toll from 2017’s Hurricane Maria from 64 – to nearly three-thousand. Governor Ricardo Rossello says the official death toll is now being tallied at two-thousand-975 based on a report by George Washington University. But it may go even higher.

New data from the CDC shows the number of people with sexually transmitted diseases is rising in the United States. And at fairly startling rates. How bad is it? Nearly two-point-three million Americans were diagnosed with chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis in the year 2017. It’s the fourth consecutive year that we’ve seen an increase.

Swearing in Myrtle Beach could cost you $500 or jail time


Using profanity in Myrtle Beach could cost you big bucks or even land you in jail.

obscene and profane language ordinance, the offense is a misdemeanor, punishable with a fine of up to $500 or 30 days in jail. However, the violations are limited to those using profanity that is directed toward another person.

UBER Building Flying Cars Again


Toyota, based in Japan, is also investing $500 million in Uber as part of the alliance announced Monday.

The deal aims to combine the best features from the two companies’ work on autonomous technology into cars that will be picking up Uber’s customers by 2021.
