Fifteen-year-old Kyland Clark has second and third degree burns on his back, face, and chest after his friends poured boiling water on him while he was sleeping recently. Though Kyland is expected to heal, a similar challenge caused the death of a child in Florida. Another twist to the challenge is drinking hot water through a straw.

Carr Fire Grows To Over 95-Thousand Acres
With 200-thousand acres scorched in California, the largest swath of destruction has come courtesy of the deadly Carr Fire in North California. Fire crews are making a little progress against the more than 95-thousand acre fire near Redding, which is now at 17-percent containment.
Tragically, the fire has claimed six lives, including two firefighters – with several more still missing.
