Two years ago....I can’t believe it. At exactly 2pm on 10-19-15 my son came into this world at a healthy 7lbs 12 oz.

Most of my labor was a blur due to exhaustion and epidural. But I do remember vividly the doctor telling me I was going to have an emergency c-section because the baby’s heart rate was dropping. Um...no ma’am.

My momma bear mode must have kicked into high gear because at that moment I sat up, gritted my teeth and pushed with every fiber I had in me. Almost like I was fighting for my baby. Much like I do now.

10 pushes and 10 minutes later my boy came out so slippery that his Grandma Ali had to catch him. I remember her crying saying “He’s HERE!” And as Grandma nervously cut the cord the doctor looked at me and said in shock “Are you impressed with yourself? Because I’m impressed!” She couldn’t believe I had gotten him out so quickly.

To me I just felt like I did what I do to this day. Protect my baby boy at all costs.

Lyric my love you are my everything. Your little cheeks are just a precious now as they were then. Your perfect poofy hair (that gave me loads of heartburn) is perfection. Your a sassy little sprite but your sweet side melts me. Even when you fart on me when I'm changing your diaper. Ya little stink!

I pray that you always get as obsessively excited over planes and trucks as you do now. Maybe you'll be a pilot or perhaps and engineer someday. I hope that you always smile cheek to cheek and pageant wave at everyone you see. Maybe you'll be a celebrity someday. You for sure have that red carpet walk down pat. Whatever path you should choose mommy will be here for you every single step of the way. The sky is the limit for you kid.
