Wilmer Valderrama revealed the "audacious" project he was involved with years ago that helped shape his career and let him realize he could do more than just act.
During the premiere episode of the new podcast Dos Amigos, hosted by longtime friends and "real-life amigos" Valderrama and actor Freddy Rodriguez, the That '70s Show star explained that his show Yo Momma, in which contestants try out their best "Yo Momma" jokes to see who will be crowned the best trash-talker, helped him understand he could bring his creative talents behind the scenes just as well as standing in front of the screen. Valderrama served as creator, executive producer and host of the show that ran from 2006 to 2007, which also marked his first time as a producer.
"That was my first Frankenstein," he said. "That was my first audacious thought that maybe I could be a producer too, you know. Then I created this thing and MTV [which aired the show] says yes."
The podcast's first episode fittingly covered topics of their "origin stories," such as the beginnings of Valderrama and Rodriguez's years-long friendship and how they each got into acting, as well as their desire to lift up the Latino community.
Dos Amigos aims to bring the good vibes, creating an atmosphere for listeners to feel like they're hanging out talking with their closest friends. According to the podcast description:
