Debris from Key Bridge Collapse Washes Ashore

Debris is washing ashore and accumulating in waterfront communities following the collapse of the Key Bridge in Baltimore. Large pieces of wood have been washing up in areas like Riviera Beach in Anne Arundel County about a mile away from the bridge.

Authorities have told residents DO NOT TOUCH the debris because there may be chemicals or contaminants on them. If you find debris on shore call the Key Bridge Joint Unified Command hotline at 410-205-6625.

There is also concern that the debris could pose a possible issue with swimming and boating this summer.
