Sure you might be ready to deal with cicadas this year because you've had the past 17 years to get ready for them, but are you ready for "zombie cicadas?"
You read that right! Cicadas just got even worse this year because this year's batch of cicadas will have a mind-controlling fungus that turns them all into zombies!
According to a paper published by a group of scientists last year, scientists learned that a parasitic invader known as Massospora was able to infiltrate the abdomen of male cicadas and manipulate their wings to mimic their mating rituals, which is what causes all the noise.
