Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Is Spooktacular! Plus, our D23 recap!

Halloween might be a couple of months away, but Disney enthusiasts are already in full festive swing. My husband Chris and I had the pleasure of attending Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom and let me tell you—it was an unforgettable experience filled with magic, nostalgia, and candy galore! Thanks so much to Alex and his team at Walt Disney Public Relations for inviting us!

For those unfamiliar, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is an after-hours event held at Disney's Magic Kingdom. It’s a family-friendly celebration where guests of all ages can indulge in Halloween festivities without the frights that often come with the season. Instead, Disney offers a whimsical spin on Halloween, featuring beloved characters in Halloween attire, delightful decorations, themed shows, and—of course—trick-or-treating!

Trick-or-Treating Disney Style

Our adventure began the moment we stepped into the Magic Kingdom. The atmosphere was electric, with guests dressed in a variety of costumes—some simple, others elaborate, all adding to the festive spirit. Costumes ranged from classic Disney characters to Marvel superheroes, with some standout outfits like a cleverly done Lumière and an impressive Chewbacca.

As we made our way through Tomorrowland Terrace, we were handed reusable trick-or-treat bags—reminiscent of our childhood Halloween experiences. Disney, partnered with Mars M&M, provided an array of candy, from Milky Way to Skittles. The excitement of collecting candy at different stations, marked by glowing towers, brought out the inner child in everyone.

Entertainment and Food Fit for the Season

In addition to trick-or-treating, the night was packed with entertainment options. We enjoyed specialty Halloween-themed snacks and beverages, which added a tasty twist to the night. However, the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly Mickey's Boo-To-You Parade. The parade featured an incredible lineup of floats and characters, making it one of the most memorable parades we've ever seen at Disney. There was also Chris's favorite Hocus Pocus Halloween Spelltacular featuring the antics of the Sanderson Sisters set in front of Cinderella Castle, and one of the best nighttime fireworks shows, Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular hosted by Jack Skellington!

A Night to Remember

For Chris, who typically prefers a more traditional Halloween, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was a blast. The event perfectly captured the essence of Halloween—fun, slightly spooky, and full of joy. As for me, a self-proclaimed Halloween fanatic, it was the perfect way to kick off the season early.

If you're planning a visit to the Magic Kingdom during the Halloween season, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is an experience you won't want to miss. With its mix of nostalgia, entertainment, and Disney magic, it’s a night that promises to leave you with cherished memories and maybe even a bag full of candy!

D23 Expo: Disney's Grand Showcase

From new park attractions to movie releases, D23 is the ultimate source of insider Disney news. As avid Disney fans, Chris and I always look forward to the announcements, and this year did not disappoint.
