'The Lion King' Is Returning To Theaters For Its 30th Anniversary

Get ready to feel old after reading this because The Lion King turns 30 years old this week!!

If you're like us then the original Lion King movie was a staple of your childhood and you're probably going to instantly age yourself when you find out it came out originally on June 15, 1994.

Luckily, Disney is re-releasing the film to celebrate its 30th anniversary and we're 100% here for it even if we're the only adults in the theater watching a childhood staple so that we can sing "Hakuna Matata" with our besties one more time.

The Lion King’s re-release will begin on July 12th and as of right now there is no timeline on how long the film will actually remain in theaters. If anything it gives you another reason to see Mufasa: The Lion King (aka the film's prequel) later this year when it comes out on December 20th.

You can also relive your childhood by watching the modern trailer for the original Lion King below!
