One of the best, but also worst, things in the DMV is that we have three airports to choose from when trying to fly somewhere and thanks to a new study we now know which airport experiences the most delays!
According to the study, DCA (aka Ronald Reagan National Airport) is the tenth airport with the highest amounts of disruptions in 2024 so you might want to start planning your next flight out of BWI or Dulles.
The study looked at flight disruptions from each US airport as of May 2024 and in just this year alone DCA has 27.8% of flights disrupted meaning they either had a delay or were canceled.
Luckily, the delays at DCA are nothing compared to some of the other airports in the US as the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport has experienced 45.6% of its flights being disrupted this year.
Plan accordingly obviously, but you might want to avoid flying to or through some of these airports:
- Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport – 45.6% of flights disrupted
- Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport – 40.6% of flights disrupted
- Charlotte Douglas International Airport – 37.8% of flights disrupted
- O’Hare International Airport – 34.7% of flights disrupted
- Miami International Airport – 31.7% of flights disrupted
- Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport – 30.5% of flights disrupted
- Orlando International Airport – 30.5% of slights disrupted
- Denver International Airport – 28.7% of flights disrupted
- Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport – 28.4% of flights disrupted
- Ronald Reagan National Airport – 27.8% of flights disrupted
