Everyone has their go-to seat at the movie theater, but it might actually cost you more in the near-future thanks to AMC Theatres new ticket-pricing plan!

The theater chain just announced a new "tiered pricing model" called Sightline at AMC that will actually fluctuate the price of your movie ticket based on where you sit in the actual theater.

The pricing is kind of like going to a concert where the closer you are to the stage, the more you pay, but ins this scenario you pay more based on how close to the middle of the theater you are.

Here are the new tiers AMC hopes to implement by the end of the year:

  • Standard Sightline - This includes the “most common” seats and they’ll be the “traditional cost of a ticket.”
  • Value Sightline - These are seats in the front row, which will be “available at a lower price than Standard Sightline seats.”
  • Preferred Sightline - These are typically in the middle of the theater and will be priced at “a slight premium to Standard Sightline seats.”

AMC says theaters offering the Sightline pricing will provide a detailed seat map for people buying tickets online, but just get ready to fork over a few extra dollars the next time you want to see a movie in the MCU like Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania!
