Get ready to start looking at Metro cars in a completely different way later this spring when Metrobar opens up with a completely retrofitted Metro car!
The new bar is opening near the actual Rhode Island Ave-Brentwood metro station and feature a 5000 series train that's been gutted to include dining tables and a bar with a huge outdoor patio.
The owners of Metrobar actually worked with transportation authorities to acquire two cars that would have otherwise been scrapped and they completely reworked them to work for the DC-themed bar.
The team is looking to add old go-go and punk concert posters on the walls and plan to bring in local artists to the site and they also plan to use the metro car's old microphone system for announcements.
