You may want to keep track of your phone a lot more, because new research shows that cell phones are even DIRTIER than a toilet seat!
According to the University of Michigan School of Public Health more than 17,000 bacterial genes are on your phone at one time, which is almost 10 times the amount on a toilet seat! They say that most of this bacteria isn't harmful, but some traces of Streptococcus, MRSA and even E. coli eventually could get on there!
Their advice is to keep your phone out of the bathroom, wipe your phone with a microfiber cloth, and to use a mix of 60% water and 40% rubbing alcohol to fully cleanse it! Apparently doing it a few times a month is plenty!
