Your Broken Phone Screen Could Help Hackers!

As if shattering your phone screen is terrible enough, now according to a new study you might have more to worry about than replacing it!

Broken screens are replaced with aftermarket components, components which could be tampered with in order to hijack someone's phone!

Hackers could impersonate software, grant permissions, take photos of the user without their knowledge, replace real URLs with phishing URLs, and log virtually anything to the user does on the touchscreen - like exploit vulnerabilities in the device's OS kennel.

The process is called a "chip-in-the-middle" attack, which researchers demonstrated on Android and iOS devices!
