MTV's True Life Crime is kicking off its second season with host Dometi Pongo.. but turns out, the job wasn't always his! It was a job meant for many others, but when he was given the opportunity, he took it and ran far with it. Now they're investigating true crime cases in a new way... bringing social justice into it, and a connection to young audiences that other true crime shows don't have. Hear his story, how they pick the cases, and how he has learned to deal with the mental toll that investigating brings.
What I really loved is how open he was about needing to go to therapy after season one, and how it's molded him into a more all around person who can do this investigating on another level. I love being inspired by people who take opportunities and make the most out of them... not only for their career, dreams, and goals, but also for evaluating themselves as a person. Plus- I feel incredibly nervous when I watch most of these shows. I realize that so many of these stories could be about me disappearing while drunk and/or alone, and that's what makes this show so much more powerful, especially for the audience they have.
