Jedi, Force, and Padawan Are Now Part of the Oxford English Dictionary!

Get ready to start incorporating Star Wars more into your vocabulary because the Oxford English Dictionary just added a TON of Star Wars vocabulary!

As of today the following terms are now "real words" if you go by the dictionary: Jedi, Padawan, mind trick, Force, and lightsabre (the English spelling of the word).

"Jedi" is defined as “a member of an order of heroic, skilled warrior monks who are able to harness the mystical power of the Force.” While the "Force" has a NEW definition that references Star Wars meaning “a mystical universal energy field.”

“Mind trick” is also updated with a note that says “see also Jedi” and "Padawan" now refers to "An apprentice Jedi!" Also can we talk about how a "lightsabre" is now a "weapon resembling a sword, but having a destructive beam of light in place of a blade?!”

Now, while you add these words to your everyday vocabulary, check out the latest trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker below!
