Tom Welling Will Play Superman Again During 'Crisis on Infinite Earths!'

Get ready to head back to Smallville during this year's Arrowverse Crossover called 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' because Tom Welling will be reprising his ICONIC role of Clark Kent from Smallville!

Yesterday it was confirmed that not only will Welling be returning to the role, but he will properly be suiting up as Superman during the crossover episodes which was something he didn't do until the last episode of Smallville.

The CW confirmed that Welling's version of Superman will be a 10 years-older version of where the character was left off almost eight years ago.

Also before I continue on with the rest of this blog, just go ahead and enjoy the Smallville theme song one more time!

The CW confirmed the news along with a statement from executive producer Marc Guggenheim, which you can see below:

“For eight years, Arrow has stood on the shoulders of Smallville. Simply put, there would be no Arrow, and no Arrowverse, without it,” said Guggenheim. “So when we first started talking about Crisis on Infinite Earths, our first, second and third priorities were getting Tom to reprise his iconic role as Clark Kent. To say that we’re thrilled would be a Superman-sized understatement.”

Even Arrow star Stephen Amell acknowledged the lasting influence of Smallville and epic casting, which you can also see below! Now we just need Michael Rosenbaum to come back as a different Lex Luthor and we'll be ALL set!

Crisis on Infinite Earths will start on December 8 with Batwoman!
