Jamie Foxx to Play Spawn in Superhero Reboot

It seems like tons of actors are foregoing Oscars to instead become superheroes and we can add another name to that list because Jamie Foxx has just been announced as the superhero Spawn in the self-titled reboot!!

Directed by creator Todd McFarlane this will be Foxx's second run in a superhero movie as he previously played the villain Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The film will also be produced by Blumhouse Productions' Jason Blum so you can probably expect the reboot to be scarier than the 1990s version.

According to Deadline the film will aim to have an R-rating and will be much darker than the 1997 version played by Michael Jai White!

An interesting note is that Spawn is neither owned by Marvel or DC, which is why it is being made by Blumhouse Productions.
