Nintendo's recent update to the Nintendo Switch has brought a ton of secret features to the console including this: You can now use a GameCube controller on the system!!
All you have to do is connect a GameCube controller through a Wii U adapter and the Switch will accept it and let you play any game! You'll have to figure out the new controls, but hey we're one step closer to old GameCube games coming to Virtual Console!
