Robert Anthony Cruz just signed with the Washington Nationals as an undrafted free agent and broke the news to his dad in such a heartwarming way!
Originally posted to his TikTok account, Cruz can be seen walking into an auto repair shop and asking for his dad. Subtitles share that an employee shouted "Ron, there's someone here to see you!" and to his surprise, his son walks into his office wearing a Nationals hat and holding a matching one. After asking "what happened?" he puts the pieces together that his son officially coming to the DC as a National! Tears are shed as Ron exclaims how proud he is of his son and we certainly caught the feels too watching this sweet moment unfold on camera.
Cruz put up a .388 batting average with 45 hits, 11 home runs and 36 RBI during his All-American senior season at Biola University in the PacWest. In 93 total games, Cruz hit 21 homers and 79 RBI with a .326 average.
