Mayor Bowser Extends Mass Gatherings Through April 27th

Washington DC Mayor, Muriel Bowser, is holding a press conference right now.

She confirmed the first death due to COVID-19 in Washington DC, as well as confirming that Washington DC has 71 confirmed cases.

WJLA reports: "In a press conference Friday afternoon, Bowser said many things will be done in attempt to continue social distancing in the city. Among them: D.C. schools will continue distance learning until at least April 27, District government will continue teleworking and the ban on mass gatherings will stand."

The news conference is still happening live, but we will update as much as we can throughout.
