Three DC Metro Orange Line Stations Will Be Closed for Over Three Months

Three Orange Line stations on the DC Metro system will be closed for over three months this summer as critical repair work needs to be performed on the platforms. Leading into the shutdowns, which are planned to begin on Memorial Day, parking at the stations will be reduced as well.

The three stations, Vienna, Dunn Loring and East Falls Church, will be closed starting on Monday, May 25th and will remained closed until Monday, September 7th, a total of 74 days. WMATA says the stations have been deteriorating due to exposure to weather and de-icing agents.

Metro is warning commuters that on March 15th, parking space will become closed or limited at the East Falls Church and West Falls Church stations as areas will be needed to house construction crews and equipment.

After the repair work is completed to the three Orange Line stations this summer, ten more will still need repair work.
