Breaking: Justin Chambers is Leaving "Grey's Anatomy"

"Grey's Anatomy" fans...it seems as if this may be the beginning of the inevitable end.

AKA...I'M CRYING AT MY DESK WRITING THIS.

Justin Chambers, who plays one of the beloved ORIGINAL "Grey's Anatomy" characters, Alex Karev, announced today that he's leaving the show. His statement, via Deadline, says: “There’s no good time to say goodbye to a show and character that’s defined so much of my life for the past 15 years,” Chambers said in a statement to Deadline. “For some time now, however, I have hoped to diversify my acting roles and career choices. And, as I turn 50 and am blessed with my remarkable, supportive wife and five wonderful children, now is that time.”

Justin is one of the last surviving original doctors on the show, alongside Meredith Grey herself, Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson (Miranda Bailey), and James Pickens, Jr. (Richard Webber).
