As temperatures rise this weekend, firefighters warn of the danger of water bottles in direct sunlight.
According to WSET, First responders say leaving a plastic bottle of water in a hot car and direct sunlight can start a fire in just a couple of minutes. It has to be a full water bottle, that is filled to the top, but if it sits out in direct sunlight, the water and the plastic can create a magnifying effect that could set upholstery on fire.
Just be careful this weekend because it's going to be a heatwave that we haven't experienced in a while, with temperatures rising above 100 - so get all of the water bottles OUT of your car, (as well as your car chapsticks because that'll be a MESS).
