Gloria Vanderbilt, the heiress to the Vanderbilt railroad fortune and creator of the wildly popular Vanderbilt jeans, has died, according to TMZ. She passed away from stomach cancer, which they caught too late.
Gloria is the mother of Anderson Cooper, as well as a model, fashion designer, and actress. She was one of the biggest socialites in New York City. She was also linked to many famous men, including Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelley. While she had a hard childhood, she was super close to Anderson, after the death of her oldest son in 1988 when he committed suicide.
