Big Rule Change Coming to NFL for 2017 Season

The NFL has announced that effective in the 2017 season, overtime in the regular season and pre-season will be shortened to 10 minutes as opposed to the current 15. This adjustment was made based on the decision that a shorter period will "improve player safety," especially if one of the involved teams has a short week and will go from playing a Sunday game to a Thursday game. 

In addition to the overtime change, the NFL announced that they are "relaxing rules on [end zone] celebrations" and adjusting rules affecting roster cuts and players on injured reserve. READ MORE HERE.
