Wednesday morning there were shots fired near the Capitol Building in response to a woman ramming her vehicle into a Police Cruiser near the Rayburn Office Building at 1st and Independence Ave. SE just before 10am.
According to WJLA, the suspect drove a car into a police cruiser and attempted to drive over other officers, but were able to get out of the way. After this incident, Capitol Police are reported to have fired several shots. No injuries are being reported. Police said the woman was driving "aggressively and recklessly."
The suspect is in custody. Capitol Police has stated this was not a terror attack.
