  • Dictionary.com chose “demure”
  • Cambridge Dictionary chose "manifest"

And now, the Oxford English Dictionary, has named “brain rot” as its word of the year.

It’s defined as quote: “the supposed deterioration of a person’s mental or intellectual state, especially viewed as the result of overconsumption of material (now particularly online content) considered to be trivial or unchallenging.” End quote.

Fun fact: The term “brain rot” has actually been around for more than a century and was first used by author Henry David Thoreau in his book “Walden.”
