Couples Are Using ChatGPT to Resolve Arguments

ChatGPT is taking over everything it seems and now couples are using it in their relationship.

A man on reddit shared an apology letter he got from his wife that he's pretty sure was actually written by ChatGPT. Another man posted on reddit saying his girlfriend uses ChatGPT every time they have an argument. But is this a good thing? Psychologist, Cynthia Shaw, told HuffPost quote:

“For those who may not have access to mental health services, using ChatGPT is one way to access some sort of resource for guidance.”

If you're using ChatGPT to "win" an argument, that's probably a red flag but if you're using it to process things, it sounds like there could be some benefit. Shaw, told HuffPost quote:

"What is the reason someone is resorting to the use of artificial intelligence? Is it to help craft the ‘perfect apology,’ or is it to look for information as to how to engage in active listening? The former may seem a bit shallow, whereas the latter may seem more sincere, as if someone is trying to learn so that they can incorporate this in future interactions.”

There are some general things you should remember if you do decide to use chatGPT:

  • don't pull out ChatGPT mid-argument
  • remember that it could be biased based on the information you give.
