After 11 months, Giant Pandas are coming back toThe Smithsonian National Zoo!!
The National Zoo announced they will be closed to the public Tuesday, October 15th, and hinted that the closure was related to the pandas' arrival. Thye did not give details out of concern for the safety of the staff and the pandas.
The China Wildlife Conservation Association announced that three-year-old pandas Bao Li and Qing Bao departed China yesterday. The pandas are unlikely to go on display right away, as they will have to acclimate to their new location before they are shown to the public.
