It goes without saying that you should always be kind.

Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of who you are interacting with. Also, you deserve it when horrible things happen if you treat people poorly because you believe they are beneath you. After making a less than stellar impression during his job interview, one man will always remember that lesson.

His prospective employer has disclosed the one error he made, which eliminated any possibility of him being hired. She cautioned Reddit users to treat everyone with respect in the "Life Pro Tips" topic. "Today, within the first five minutes of entering the building, a candidate blew his interview," she wrote.

He treated the receptionist with contempt. He hardly looked at her as she greeted him. She made an attempt to talk to him. Once more, there was no interest in conversation and no eye contact. The applicant was unaware that the "receptionist" was the recruiting manager in reality!

Even if the applicant is the greatest fit for the job, they are finished if they behaved badly toward the receptionist! Imagine how horrible they will treat the receptionist after they obtain the job if they treated them like filth when they were supposed to be acting nice. It's the same with any cleaning crew. They are also consulted.

She called him back to the conference room and explained how every single person on our team is valuable and worthy of respect. Due to his interaction with the "receptionist," the hiring manager did not feel he was a good fit. Thank you for your time but the interview is over. Be nice to everyone in the building."

This should go to show kindness really can make or break an interaction, and had he been nice he would most likely be employed right now! so pro tip guys, be nice!
