Dictionary.com has announced their word of 2023 is “hallucinate.” According to the online reference, their pick refers to a specific definition of the term that pertains to artificial intelligence.
The definition they’re referring to is “to produce false information contrary to the intent of the user and present it as if true and factual,” as in when chatbots and other AI tools make stuff up.
